About Us

Wellness Ceylon Global (Private) Limited was established in 2022 as a limited liability company. As its tea division, Wellness Ceylon Tea, we are registered as a tea exporter and a tea company with the Sri Lanka Tea Board as an Export Development Board in 2025.

From September 2025, we expect to export millions of bags of Wellness Ceylon Black Tea, Green Tea, Herbal Tea and Cinnamon Tea to various countries as bulk and value-added tea.
We have constructed a new office premises with improved facilities including a modern tea room, a fully equipped tea table for tea tasting and sampling.

We have set our plans to export 100,000 kg in 2026. We are looking forward to acquiring a new blending machine, an imported tea bagging machine for expansions to capture and attract exporters and to blend and pack their tea at our location and to improve the company’s revenue.

We are looking forward to recruiting more staff members to facilitate new orders from our buyers as well as to manage the new operations that are scheduled to commence soon.

Management Team

We have a potential management team.

We have an experienced management team and staff consisting of specialists in marketing, tea tasting, financial management and overall management by a qualified young management team with new ideas to steer the company towards a profitable entity.

We also have highly experienced and experienced and well qualified professors and doctors to provide advice and recipes for the production of medicinal tea and cinnamon tea.

We look forward to the successful continuation of the company by taking innovative and timely decisions collectively by the management team and the board of directors.

Managing Director

The idea of starting tea exports was initiated by Mr. Amila Basnayake with Prof. Dr. Ruwan Bandara Yatiyana, a director of the company. As a result, Wellness Ceylon Tea Company was established to export tea.

A resident of Maldives for about 20 years, Mr. Amila Basnayake has been successfully serving as the Marketing Director of the company for many years, taking the company to the level it is today.

He has strong marketing skills to get foreign tea buyers to sell our products and maintains good relations with foreign buyers in Maldives, Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries, European countries and many other countries for exports as well as imports.

Also, he handles the financial part abroad in terms of raising funds and efficiently handling export related matters during this run. Frequent visits to Sri Lanka for upgrades and other operational activities.

Supportive staff.

We have a support staff including a Director, CEO, Production Executives, IT Executive, Tea Room Assistant, Accountant and other minor staff to make the operation a success.

Strength and Quality.

Like the strength of the rock, the system that we have established through long years of experience in the tea trade and the export market, enables us to produce a selection of outstanding products. We guarantee the availability of outstanding quality tea during the appropriate season and above average quality teas during rush cropping months. Optimum product freshness All teas are delivered directly to our ISO certified stores from the plantations within the shortest possible time frame and immediately packed into cartons and bulk kraft paper sacks for maximum freshness and flavor to export

Value added teas exportation.

Packeted teas with our own unique blends exported have a good demand from the foreign buyers and super market. We continue to export value added teas during this year as well. Planned to export 4-6 consignments of Value added this year too with the Lion Logo awarded by Sri Lanka Tea’s board as per their standards.

Bulk tea blending operation with the expansion of warehouse facility.

Presently we are equipped with a medium size blending machine, which is to be installed in the new warehouse building to be built in our premises. By installing we planned to cut down our out-sourcing blending charges and ware housing charges as well as to cater for other exporter blending requirements. Thereby to generate more business on blending and packing up to loading & provide full scale service to our clients.

Tea bagging unit into operation.

Most of the exporters are struggling to get it done their tea bag packaging requirements on time. As we have already imported 3 No’s tea bagging machines and to be installed at our premises once the warehousing completed.

This will give us an opportunity to acquire more business on tea bagging and cater our buyers on time delivery.

Expand our Local Tea Business.

We have offered our samples to few distributors to expand our local tea business.

Vision & Mission

Wellness Ceylon Global (Pvt) Ltd is small scale Tea exporting/ Trading Company. We have our own unique blends that are made out of Pure Ceylon Tea with natural flavors, exotic fruits, flower petals & herbals. Also, the bulk blends that we produce as per the buyer’s requirement according to our own standards. Herbal range is of teas our new focus for exportation.

We plan for expansions to our company in many ways. New warehousing, Tea Blending facility, tea Bagging facility, contract packing are latest developments to be added to the company next year.

There by targeting 400,000.00 kg’s of Ceylon tea to export and at least 500, 000.kgs to blend at our premises and 12,000,000 tea bags to produce as contact packing for other exporters during this year and expand the Herbal tea project aiming exportation.

Our team of experienced master blenders, taste samples from all tea brokers to select and purchase only the best blends demanded from different regions and create natural fruits and unique tea blends with the most local ingredients such as different flavors, herbs, making every tea drinking experience more unique and enjoyable.
